The Safe Digital Citizens (SDC) Initiative is a community-driven program of Edge Hopebuilders for Youths and Women Initiative, designed to strengthen the digital capacity of young people and women while promoting their safe and meaningful participation in governance. Recognizing the growing role of technology in civic engagement, the project focuses on equipping participants with essential digital literacy and safety skills to help them navigate online spaces responsibly. Through interactive training sessions, discussions, and mentorship, participants learn how to protect their digital identities, combat misinformation, and use technology as a tool for advocacy and civic participation.
The SDC Initiative also creates safe online and offline spaces where youth and women can express their opinions, share ideas, and engage with decision-makers without fear of harassment or exploitation.
To empower youths and women with digital safety and literarcy skills that enhance their confidence and capacity to participate in governance and community development processes. More images from the event below
